Motif town of “Whisper of the heart”.

SeisekiSakuragaoka is the one of impressive town for me. I helped management of a certain music studio there When I was about 20 years-old. Unfortunately the man I was working together was dead though…

By the way, generally Seisekisakuragaoka has came to be famous, well-known, sanctuary for fans since this town was the stage of the animation film named “Whisper of the heart“, by Studio Gibli. In this movie, obviously stage looks like Seisekisakuragaoka but appears as a little bit different town.

Also some sceneries appear as they are at Seisekisakuragaoka, like Irohazaka, Stairs to the library, rotary on the hill, so on. The place for the last scene is not admit to enter currently because of security reason, it is sitting inside of filtration plant. However a little park seems to be built approximately 10 meters below where people can overlook Tokyo Metropolitan side in front as well as the movie as below.

And rotary on the hill is as below nowadays.

This is just brief introduction, Irohazaka can be accessed with 10 minutes walk from Seisekisakuragaoka station, and further 10 minutes will take you the rotary on the hill. Just in case, Seisekisakuragaoka station is 30 minutes away from Shinjuku station by Experess of Keio Line.
